About the blog

Four years ago I decided to study journalism. I wasn’t too bad of a writer, and I was a naive eighteen year old, who wanted to change the world, go to the Middle East and cover politics or war. Part of me still wants to do that,  but during my education, it became more and more clear to me that the journalism I was being trained for, wasn’t the journalism I wanted to practice. I spent six months abroad in Amsterdam. Studying journalism, but mostly enjoying big city life.

I’ve been acting since the age of seven, but in Amsterdam, I was finally able to go to the theatre as often as I wanted to. I returned to my small town life, missing the theatre, above all. Still not quite sure about what I was going to do with my life, I started Film and Theatre studies at the University of Antwerp. Mainly excited about the theatre courses, and only mildly intrigued by whatever they were going to teach me about ‘film.’

Over the course of that year something quite special happened. I fell in love with cinema. The result of that blooming relationship is this blog. Enjoy.

Very interesting About Me! I loved the idea of naming those different favourite films for different purposes. And so lovely to hear how you got to where you are now and your love of cinema, absolutely great! 🙂

Great to meet you too. I’m just getting started in this blogosphere, so it’s always nice to get some feedback. 🙂
And, yeah, that was mainly because I can’t choose a single favourite film. 🙂
